Yooka-Replayee confirmed for consoles

In addition to announcing Yooka-Replaylee for consoles, Playtonic has released a trailer featuring new gameplay footage and some of the promised new content for the remaster.

In its announcement, the developer did not specifically mention the Nintendo Switch as a supported platform, instead suggesting that the game will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. “Yes! Yooka-Replaylee will be playable on PS5, Xbox Series and… Nintendo? (Oh, mysterious. We’ll have more on that as soon as possible!),” said Playtonic. It is likely that the game will be released on both the existing Nintendo Switch and its successor, which is due for release in 2025.

Owners of the original version of Yooka-Laylee on Steam have already confirmed that they can get a discount on the remaster. Playtonic said it is working with other platforms to provide update paths for the game on consoles. The studio said it will share more details about the platform soon.

There’s no confirmed release date for Yooka-Replaylee yet, but the remaster is now available to wishlist on PS5, Xbox, and PC (via Steam).

Yooka-Replaylee was announced in June, and Playtonic promised a revised control scheme and camera system, ability tweaks, remixes and new challenges, new collectibles, and visual upgrades compared to the original game.

Yooka-Laylee was originally released on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2017. A spiritual successor to the beloved Banjo-Kazooie series, the platformer follows the colorful adventures of Yuka the chameleon and Leila the bat. .
