The OmniVision sensor hasn’t been officially unveiled yet, but it’s rumored to be an upgrade to the existing OV50H found in the iQOO 12 series and the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. Notably, the Xiaomi 13 Pro came with a 1-inch sensor, but with its successor, the smartphone maker ditched it in favor of a Light Hunter 900 sensor with a dedicated Leica Summilux lens.
The telephoto lens of the Xiaomi 15 Pro is also expected to receive an update. According to the leaker, it may have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor that will replace the Samsung ISOCELL JN1. In the post, the source claims that the resolution of the Sony sensor is slightly lower, but in terms of power consumption and specifications, it offers good value. The post also added that overall performance will depend on the aperture size, which is currently unknown.
While no details are known about the sensor of the ultra-wide-angle camera, it is said to be 50MP as well.
