Vivo is all set to launch several new smartphones next week, with the upcoming X200 series slated to launch on October 14. With just over a week to go, the company executive has now revealed not only the models that will be unveiled at the event, but also their main features and some specifications. Apart from praising the company’s past achievements with the Vivo X100 series, the executive also released some camera samples to showcase the capabilities of the upcoming Vivo X200 series of smartphones.

Vivo’s vice president and general manager of brand and product strategy Jia Jingdong published a post on Weibo revealing many details about the brand’s X200 series of smartphones. For starters, he finally clarified that this year (at least for the launch in China) there will be a base model X200, a top model X200 Pro and a model X200 Pro Mini.

Jingdong also released a new set of official renders showing what each phone will look like. From this we can say that the Vivo X200 Pro will be available in 4 finishes (Black, White, Beige and Blue), the Vivo X200 will also be available in the same unique textured blue finish, while the Vivo X200 Pro Mini will be available. in 4 finishes, including a pink version. All three models look similar, but will differ in size.

In a lengthy post, the executive explained that the Vivo X200 series will have a 4K 120fps slow-motion video recording mode, just like the Apple iPhone 16 Pro. The devices, thanks to the new V3+ image processing chip, will also be able to record Backlight Portrait videos, a mode that has been designed to provide better clarity and detail in videos under strong background lighting. Part of this new camera is driven by Sony’s latest LYT-818 sensor, which can also deliver improved power consumption.

The Vivo X200 phones will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC and will run on OriginOS 5 in China. There will also be some new AI features, including real-time on-device translation, one-sentence video editing, and real-time object recognition.

Vivo will use a new type of battery with increased silicon content, which will allow for higher energy density. The new battery technology will also allow the use of Vivo X200 smartphones at temperatures of -20 degrees. The new Vivo X200 Pro Mini will also use the same battery technology, which should last longer (compared to other similarly sized flagships).
