The Samsung Galaxy S25 main camera sensor may be the same as the Galaxy S24

The Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra are likely to go official early next year. Rumored launch dates are months away, but a series of leaks over the past few days have shed some light on what we can expect from next year’s Galaxy S flagships. An early leak now hints that the Galaxy S25 will have the exact same primary camera sensor as the Galaxy S24. The vanilla model and the Plus variant may get a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy S25 camera leak shows no update

According to a report by GalaxyClub (in Dutch), the Samsung Galaxy S25 will have a 50-megapixel primary camera. If this rumor turns out to be true, the upcoming phone will be a fourth-generation Galaxy S phone with a 50-megapixel primary camera. The existing Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 models share the same primary camera sensor.

The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are said to have a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. This means that the resolution of the front camera will also remain unchanged compared to its predecessors. The sensor size and other details are currently under wraps.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to bring notable camera upgrades. It may get a quad-camera setup that includes a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. An ultra-wide sensor and a 3x sensor would be a huge improvement over the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Aside from the rear camera and selfie camera, the Galaxy S25 may feature the same 4,000mAh battery as its predecessor. The phone is reported to have a model number of SM-S931. The vanilla model may get a 6.36-inch display and will most likely run on the Exynos 2500 chipset in all markets.
