The next Doom game, called Doom: The Dark Ages, will be presented at the Xbox Games Showcase: report

The next game in the Doom first-person shooter series will reportedly be unveiled at next month’s Xbox Games Showcase. The game is said to be titled Doom: The Dark Ages and could be set in a medieval-inspired world. The Xbox Games Showcase event is set to take place on June 9, where Microsoft will showcase its upcoming slate of games from first-party developers as well as its third-party lineup. It has already been confirmed that the next Call of Duty will receive a special in-depth presentation right after the demo.

According to a report from Insider Gaming, Id Software will announce the next Doom game at the Xbox Games Showcase next month. The game has reportedly been in development for at least four years under the code name “Year Zero”. However, the report says that Doom: The Dark Ages will likely be the final title of the game. Doom: The Dark Ages is said to be set in a medieval-inspired world. There are no more details about the game yet.

The Xbox Games Showcase event is scheduled for June 9. In addition to updates on already published titles like Avowed and Indian Jones and the Great Circle, the showcase could reportedly feature the next installment in the Gears of Wars franchise.
