The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are set to launch in China next week, the brand announced in a social media post on Thursday. Flagship smartphones with HyperOS 2.0 will be launched alongside Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 7 series and Band 9 Pro. The Chinese tech brand has also released official images revealing the design of the phones. The Xiaomi 15 series is confirmed to be the first manufacturer of the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship processor. It will be powered by Xiaomi’s HyperCore technology.
The Xiaomi 15 series gets a launch date in the Chinese region
Xiaomi has announced via Weibo that the Xiaomi 15 series will be announced on October 29. The launch event will begin in China at 7:00 PM (4:30 PM IST). At the event, the company will also present the Xiaomi Pad 7 series, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi Band 9 Pro. The event will also mark the release of the HyperOS 2.0 skin based on Android 15.
The first posters of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro show a sleek design with a micro-curved screen and an advanced triple camera setup by Leica. The rear camera arrangement is reminiscent of the modular design of the Xiaomi 14 series. The color options are also identical to the previous series, indicating a continuation of the existing design language.
Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro have thin bezels and rounded corners. The frame of the standard model is made of aircraft aluminum. Xiaomi 15 Pro will have a thickness of 8.35 mm and a weight of 213 grams. It will have a quad-curved screen covered with Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0. The vanilla Xiaomi 15 is confirmed to boast a 6.36-inch display.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi Senior Vice President Adam Zeng confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first smartphone in global markets to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It will come with Xiaomi’s HyperCore technology. The range is expected to be launched in markets outside of China in the coming months.
