The June 18 Nintendo Direct lineup will include Nintendo Switch games coming out in the second half of 2024

Nintendo is back with a Direct that will reveal the list of Nintendo Switch games coming to the hybrid console this year. The Nintendo Direct presentation will be broadcast live on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 AM PT (7:30 PM ET). The show will last approximately 40 minutes and will focus on Nintendo Switch games coming out in 2024. The Nintendo Direct presentation comes a few days after the Xbox Games Showcase, where Microsoft presented updates to its first games.

The Direct presentation will not provide any updates on the Nintendo Switch successor, which is slated to launch next year, the company confirmed in its X post. The show will only feature Nintendo Switch games that will be released in the second half of 2024.

A June Nintendo Direct was first confirmed in May when Shuntaru Furukawa, president of Nintendo, first gave an update on the successor to the Nintendo Switch console. “This is Furukawa, Nintendo’s president. We will be announcing the successor to the Nintendo Switch during this financial year. It’s been over nine years since we announced the Nintendo Switch in March 2015,” Furukawa said on May 7. — This June, we will be holding a Nintendo Direct regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the second half of 2024. , but be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”

This will be Nintendo’s third Direct presentation this year, after the company held its Partner Showcase and Indie World Showcase in February and April, respectively. However, the Direct presentation, due to take place today, will be the longest of the year, with around 40 minutes being announced.

Also, ahead of the Nintendo Direct, legendary game director Shigeru Miyamato announced the release date of the new Super Mario animated film in Japan. First announced during Nintendo’s Mario Day broadcast on March 10, the sequel to the successful Super Mario Bros. will be released in Japan on April 24, 2026, a few days after its US release.

The Nintendo Direct will be live on the official Nintendo of America YouTube channel at 10:00 AM ET (7:30 PM ET) on Tuesday, June 18.
