Sharp Aquos R9 Pro was introduced with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset coupled with 12 GB of RAM. The phone features a 50.3-megapixel Leica triple rear camera that includes a 65mm telephoto lens. The phone will be available for sale in Japan in early December, and will be launched later in Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore. The company has not yet announced the price of the phone. Notably, the entry-level Sharp Aquos R9 with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset and 50.3-megapixel dual rear camera was first launched in May this year.
Technical characteristics of Sharp Aquos R9 Pro
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro features a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) Pro IGZO OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of built-in storage. It runs on Android 14 out of the box.
In the camera department, the Sharp Aquos R9 Pro features a Leica triple rear camera, including a large 1/0.98-inch 50.3-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. There are two more 50.3-megapixel sensors, one paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens and the other with a 1/1.56-inch telephoto lens. The front camera of the phone received a 50.3-megapixel sensor.
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro has a dust and splash rating of IPX5, IPX8 and IP6X. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and e-SIM support. The phone supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Phone Assistant is equipped with several generative AI functions.
Aquos R9 Pro from Sharp is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. For security, the phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It also has a facial recognition feature compatible with the mask. The dimensions of the phone are 162 x 78 x 9.3 mm and the weight is 229 g.
Sharp Aquos R9 Pro is presented in black. The company said the phone will be available with a camera ring and a case with a shoulder strap.
