The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 could be announced in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The foldable phone that has been rumored for the past few months has reportedly received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The phone also allegedly appeared in the Camera FV-5 database. The purported BIS certification confirms the India launch and the Camera FV-5 listing indicates a better rear camera system.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has been certified by BIS with model number SM-F741B. Screenshots of the list published by the publication show that he received the certificate on Monday (May 20). The listing hints at the launch of the foldable device in India, but does not reveal any specifications.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has also allegedly been spotted in the Camera FV-5 database. The listing suggested a 12.5-megapixel primary sensor, which is said to be a 50-megapixel pixel-merging camera. The sensor can have a focal length of 5.4mm and support optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). The addition of a 50-megapixel primary camera will be a noticeable upgrade over last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 5, which got a 12-megapixel primary camera.
Last month, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 was spotted on Geekbench with the model number SM-F741U. It was listed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform for Galaxy, Android 14 operating system and 6.75 GB of RAM.
Previous leaks and rumors about the upcoming flip phone suggest that it will have a larger display than the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Galaxy Z Flip 6 can be available in variants with 8 or 12 GB of RAM with 256 or 512 GB of storage. It can support 25W charging.
According to rumors, the second Samsung Unpacked event in 2024 will take place on July 10. We can expect a lot more details about the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 to hit the web as we get closer to the rumored launch date.
