The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G was launched in India on Friday, a few weeks after it went on sale in France. Samsung guarantees six generations of software updates and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A16 5G. It features a 6.7-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is IP54 dust and water resistant. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G Price in India, Availability
The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Galaxy A16 5G is priced at Rs. 18,999, while the 8GB + 256GB model will cost you Rs. 20,999. It is available in Blue Black, Gold and Light Green colors and will go on sale via Samsung.com, Amazon, Flipkart and other retail platforms. Axis and SBI credit card users can save up to Rs. 1000 when buying a new phone.
Samsung’s Galaxy A16 5G is already on sale in France, where it is priced at €249 (roughly Rs. 23,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is available in three colors – grey, navy and turquoise with a glossy finish.
Features of the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G
The Galaxy A16 5G is equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor along with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The built-in memory can be expanded up to 1 TB (using a micro SD card). Confirmed to receive six OS updates and six years of security updates.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy A16 5G has a triple primary camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. There is a 13-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone.
The Galaxy A16 5G is 7.9mm thick compared to 8.4mm in previous models. It also has an IP54 certified design. The phone also got Samsung’s Knox Vault security feature. It comes with a Samsung Wallet with NFC (Near Field Communication) Tap to Pay functionality.
It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support. The Galaxy A16 5G battery is claimed to provide up to 2.5 days of playback on a single charge.
