Samsung could bring a new way to check the time on Galaxy devices, even with the screen off: the report

Samsung is reportedly working on introducing a new way to check the time on Galaxy devices, according to a tipster on the social media platform. It is said to allow users to check the time even when the device’s screen is off. The feature will reportedly be activated with a simple gesture. It is speculated that this feature could be offered in the Good Lock app instead of being natively integrated into the device’s operating system.

A new way to check the time on Galaxy phones

UX Post tipster Tarun Vats has shared details about this rumored feature that Samsung is reportedly developing. It was spotted in the Regista module of the Good Lock application. Currently, the app allows Samsung users to customize their lock screens and overall device user interface.

According to claims, an update to the RegiStar module is currently in development that could allow users to check the time on their devices with a simple gesture that requires a double tap on the back, even when the screen is off. The tipper claims it could be known as “Check the time by pressing the back”.

The feature is said to be currently under development. It is also speculated that it could arrive with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 running on One UI 6.1.1, which will reportedly be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July. However, other devices may get it later with One UI 7, which could potentially be Samsung’s Android 15 update.

One UI update 6.1.1

Samsung is also reported to be developing the One UI 6.1.1 update for its smartphones. Namely, it could bring major camera improvements to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Ultra, which debuted in January, reportedly has problems related to shutter lag, motion blur, and poor zoom quality.

According to tipster Ice Universe, the update could “include a lot of camera updates.” However, it is said that it is still in its early stages and will undergo testing for quite some time before it is released to the public.
