Samsung has confirmed that several of its premium phones will support the popular mobile game PUBG at higher frame rates than before. The battle royale game published by Krafton is available for smartphone users on both Android and iOS devices. Until recently, the game supported a frame rate of up to 90fps (frames per second). With the latest update, the game can be accessed at a higher frame rate. Samsung has announced a list of smartphones that will support gameplay with a higher frame rate.
In a community post, Samsung’s official game optimization moderator confirmed that several of its phones will support PUBG at 120fps. The list includes the phones of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series, as well as the folding smartphone Galaxy Z Fold 5 in the style of a book.
Especially with the latest update version 3.2, PUBG Mobile brings several updates like new items, new stages, new mechanics and new modes including 120fps frame rate support. A higher frame rate provides smoother gameplay, while a lower frame rate shows action and movement in games with jagged breaks.
A Samsung community post explains that the optimization will be included in the latest Game Optimization Service (GOS) and Game Booster apps that come pre-installed on most Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
However, the publication does not specify whether the support will be extended to other Samsung models later. The optimization is currently supported on the following models: Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
