Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Pro in September after several leaks had already revealed details about the updates packed into the console. Now, the PlayStation 5 Pro specs seem to have leaked ahead of launch.

PS5 Pro specs leaked

Alleged specifications surfaced online over the weekend, detailing the console’s hardware. The specifications are in Portuguese and appear to have been leaked after the first shipments of the PS5 Pro reached buyers in international markets. X user @videotechuk_ shared an image of alleged specs revealing details of the PS5 Pro.

According to the leaked image, the PS5 Pro comes with the same 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen Zen 2 processor as the original PS5. The console, however, received improved RDNA graphics with 16.7 teraflops compared to the PS5’s GPU with 10.28 teraflops.

According to the leak, the PS5 Pro also comes with 16GB of dedicated GDDR6 video memory with 2GB of DDR5 RAM for the system. It also marks an upgrade to the PS5, which comes with a unified 16GB of memory shared between the CPU and GPU.

As already confirmed by Sony, the specs state that the PS5 Pro comes with double the memory of the PS5, with a dedicated 2TB SSD. Other details revealed in the specs have also already been confirmed by Sony, such as the PS5 Pro getting Wi-Fi 7 support for faster downloads. The console retains its port selection from the PS5, including two USB Type-C ports, a USB Type-A port, Ethernet and HDMI ports, and an M.2 SSD storage slot.

The alleged specification also reveals the exact dimensions of the PS5 Pro. When announcing the console, Sony said the PS5 Pro is the same height as the original PS5, but slightly taller than the PS5 Slim. The new console, however, is just as wide as the current PS5 Slim digital edition model. According to the leak, the PlayStation 5 Pro will measure approximately 388 x 89 x 216 mm and weigh 3.1 kg. Keep in mind that these numbers are for the finished console without an external drive that can be purchased separately and plugged into it.

While these specs are in line with some previous leaks and some officially confirmed details, Sony has yet to reveal the full specs of its upcoming console. According to parent company PlayStation, the PS5 Pro has 67 percent more processing units than the standard PS5 and gets 28 percent faster memory. According to Sony, these updates allow for 45 percent faster rendering of gameplay on the new console.

The PS5 Pro also features advanced ray tracing features and a new AI scaling feature dubbed PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). However, the cost of these upgrades is high. The PS5 Pro will be available in select markets on November 7 for a suggested retail price of $699.99 (roughly Rs. 58,750).
