PlayStation Network services do not work on all platforms, preventing players from accessing PSN features, PlayStation Store and several games. Affected users are unable to log into their PSN account or go online. PlayStation Plus services are also down. Sony has confirmed that some PlayStation Network services are experiencing issues. The outage affects PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita users and those trying to connect to PSN services on web and other platforms.
PSN goes offline
Sony’s PSN service status page confirmed the outage at 6:51 a.m. Tuesday, affecting account management, games and social services, and the PlayStation Store. “You may have difficulty launching games, applications, or network functions. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” the page explained.
Gadgets360 can confirm that the PSN network outage is also affecting users in India. At the time of writing, PlayStation Store and PSN accounts remain unavailable. On PS5, when launching the PlayStation Store, a message appears: “Unable to download. Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
Several games remain on the splash screen at launch, and checking the PlayStation Network status in settings brings up the same web page confirming network issues. The PSN account also remains offline and the PS Plus services do not start either.
While multiplayer games are down, some offline games can be run. However, single-player games that require a PSN connection are also unavailable.
It’s unclear what caused PlayStation Network to crash worldwide. Sony is working to bring its services online, but it’s unclear how long it will take to resolve the issues. We will update the story with any further developments.
