OnePlus has started rolling out its Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 operating system (OS) globally for the OnePlus 12. The company says it started rolling out to users a week ahead of the expected release. OnePlus 12 users in India (IN), North America (NA), Europe (EU) and Global Region (GLO) can download the update on their devices to access the new changes that include a refreshed user interface (UI), extensive settings . options, new modes and advanced photo editing capabilities.

According to OnePlus, the OxygenOS 15 update for the OnePlus 12 introduces visual changes to the user interface. The main screen has been updated with a new design and iconography of system functions. All elements have a solid curvature, which is said to provide a sense of visual uniformity. There are new flux themes that can be customized with system wallpapers or customized with photos.

The always-on display, lock screen, and home screen also have additional customization options. Users can customize the lock screen to their liking with features such as clock color blending, glass textures, blurred wallpapers, AI depth effects, and AI autofill. Glass patterns, blurred wallpapers and other elements became available for the main screen.

OnePlus says OxygenOS 15 improves rendering and animation performance thanks to the system graphics engine. It is driven by advanced parallel processing to deliver visuals while running resource-intensive programs or multitasking. Other animation-related changes include increased consistency of drawing in the system for third-party applications and increased parallel processing for widgets, components, and folders.

OnePlus 12 users can take advantage of Global Reversible Photo Editing, which saves previous editing settings for subsequent edits. Fluid Cloud has been updated for greater compatibility with apps like Spotify, Swiggy and Zomato and can now sync information in real-time. Notifications received from apps can be turned into detailed cards. Users can swipe on the status bar to access multiple live actions.

Added more gestures to the floating window. You can now swipe down on the notification panel to open the status window, swipe down again to enlarge it, or swipe to the side to hide it. Users can also drag the separator on split windows to resize them, or click on them to expand the display area. OnePlus has also added an iOS-like feature that separates actions to access quick settings and the notification panel.

Other features include a charge limit feature to prevent overcharging, a new battery protection reminder, improved Holo Audio for online calls, categorized browsing in private space, a shortcut for hidden apps on the home screen, and optimized multi-network support.
