Last month, OnePlus unveiled OxygenOS 15 globally, introducing a revamped user interface (UI), extensive customization options, new modes, and enhanced photo editing capabilities. OnePlus 13 became the first smartphone with a new operating system (OS) out of the box. A new report suggests that the phone has more built-in space for installing apps and other activities as the OS takes up less space compared to other smartphones like the OnePlus 12.
More space on the OnePlus 13
This information comes from an article posted by Mishaal Rahman on Android Authority. The reviewer’s guide for OxygenOS 15 reportedly states that the update consumes 20 percent less space on the flagship OnePlus 13, which was launched in China last month, compared to OxygenOS 14 on the OnePlus 12.
To achieve this, the company reportedly “examined and removed redundant features.” This is said to involve reducing the number of pre-loaded resources such as wallpapers, making them available on demand. It also reportedly reduced the size of the super partition, a large dynamic partition that does not change, in the system storage. This is said to leave more storage space for user data.
The report says that the OnePlus 12 has a 16GB super partition, while the OnePlus 13 has 14.3GB, a decrease of 1.7GB. However, it is important to note that these figures were obtained from the Chinese variants of both devices, and the specifications of the global models may differ.

It is said to have started rolling out to users a week before the expected release.
