OnePlus has fixed the green bar on displays and faulty motherboard issues that many have reported plaguing its smartphones across India in recent months. Speaking to an Indian publication, the Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) reiterated its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction through its Lifetime Display Warranty initiative. He also published a clarification regarding software updates that could potentially cause motherboard failures on OnePlus smartphones.

Green line and other problems on OnePlus smartphones

Speaking to FoneArea, OnePlus acknowledged the issues with several of its devices, including the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 8. The green line issue is not specific to the company’s devices, but the company says it poses an industry-wide problem. OnePlus revealed that it worked with its suppliers and implemented corrective measures through its supply chain.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to customer satisfaction and reiterated that customers experiencing green line issues on their devices should visit their nearest OnePlus service centers as soon as possible for free device diagnostics. They will be presented with options to either upgrade their devices or replace the screen. It offers a lifetime warranty on the display, claiming to be the first brand in the industry to do so. Owners of selected OnePlus 8 and 9 series devices can upgrade their smartphone to the new OnePlus at selected authorized service centers. This applies even to smartphones that are more than a year old and have expired warranty.

The Chinese smartphone maker also acknowledged issues related to faulty motherboards on some devices, but claimed that the hardware failure was not related to software updates. If users face a problem, they can contact OnePlus Support for the help they need, from repairing the device to offering a discount on a new OnePlus device.
