OnePlus 12 may soon arrive in India in a new color. On Tuesday, the company published a post on its social media accounts covering the event. This will make it the third color for the smartphone, with Flowy Emerald and Silky Black already introduced at the time of the launch in January. The company has not announced a launch date, but it is expected to appear soon. Notably, the phone is not expected to come with any other hardware or software changes.
New OnePlus 12 color
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), OnePlus India revealed a new color variant for the OnePlus 12. The Chinese smartphone maker shared a zoomed-in image of the new OnePlus 12 color and asked people to guess the color. The image showed a metallic silver color with a shimmering coating on the camera module.
Some people have guessed “Glacier White” in the comments section, which may also be the official nickname. Earlier this month, a report by Android Authority found mention of Glacial White in the Oxygen OS v14.0.0.608 update codes. Notably, the OnePlus 12 was launched in a Glacier White variant that was exclusive to China but was not available in other markets. It looks like the company is now bringing it to India and may debut it in international markets as well.
OnePlus 12 specifications
The OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch Quad HD+ LTPO 4.0 AMOLED screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 built-in storage.
As for the cameras, the smartphone has a triple rear in a circular module. The main shooter is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 sensor. It also includes a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front panel, it received a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 12 supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS and NFC. The smartphone is backed by a 5,400mAh battery and a 100W SuperVOOC wired charger. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reversible wireless charging.
