The Nothing Phone 2a may launch in new red and yellow colors on May 29, the company hinted via a cryptic social media post on Tuesday. Initially, the smartphone debuted in two color variants – black and white. The Karl Pei-led smartphone maker has already introduced a third blue color for its budget smartphone, months after its debut. The blue variant was created especially for India. In the coming months, Nothing will also launch a Community Edition Phone 2a variant, which will use a design contributed by smartphone enthusiasts through The Community Edition Project.
Nothing phone 2a Expected color options
In X’s post, Nothing’s official handle wrote: “Something special. Tomorrow”. It was accompanied by a teaser image consisting of three colors – blue, red and yellow, with each color containing details such as its hexadecimal color code, CMYK and RGB numbers, and the RAL color standard.
While no official information has been provided regarding the mysterious post, it hints at possible new colors that could be introduced for the Phone 2a. The smartphone is available globally in black and white colors, while the recently launched blue variant is exclusive to India.
Over the past few days, Nothing’s X handle has made several cryptic posts with no context, perhaps to build anticipation leading up to the reveal of the new colors. However, the new color variants are expected to bring only cosmetic changes. Notably, India X’s Nothing and Nothing accounts have changed their display images with the text “Nothing (R)” now featuring red and yellow dots.
A teaser of the upcoming launch is also available on Flipkart in the form of a microsite. The page reads: “A story of an extremely unique color” and the text “coming soon”. Although it doesn’t officially mention the Phone 2a, it does list praise for that particular smartphone in the following texts.
Nothing, the price and availability of the Phone 2a
Nothing Phone 2a is priced in India at Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant, Rs. 25,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant and Rs. 27,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. It is available in three colors – black, blue and white. The smartphone is being sold exclusively through Flipkart.
