Kingdom Come: Deliverance, 2018’s meticulous medieval RPG, is finally getting a sequel. Publisher Plaion has announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which will be released in 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Developed by Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 promises to be a “true sequel” to the first game, bringing intuitive first-person hand-to-hand combat and an immersive RPG experience.

The game was announced with a 14-minute long video on Thursday night, where the Warhorse developers delve into the details and features of the gameplay. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also received an announcement trailer that showcased the story, combat, and detailed visuals.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set in war-torn central Europe in the 15th century and continues the story of Heinrich Skalitz from the first game. Henry, the son of a blacksmith and a simple peasant, was drawn into a revenge saga during the events of the first game, where he trained and rose through the ranks to become a capable warrior.

In the sequel, players will have to continue Henry’s journey amid the raging civil war, meet new characters and take part in new adventures. “In this exciting sequel, players will have to traverse a carefully crafted medieval landscape, from the humble grounds of a blacksmith’s forge to the grandeur of royal courts, while navigating the treacherous currents of a kingdom torn apart by civil war,” the company’s press release reads. Playon said.

The trailer showed off the improved and polished visuals compared to the first game and highlighted the realistic first-person sword combat. Playon said the sequel features two new maps, twice the size of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, with detailed real-world locations. Aside from its emphasis on role-playing mechanics and combat, the game also promises to offer a detailed story just like its predecessor.

The combat has also been updated, with Plaion opting for greater accessibility. In addition to melee and ranged weapons like swords and bows, the sequel added crossbows and early gunpowder weapons. The exciting role-playing elements of the first game also return. Players can complete the quest in different ways, and their choices affect the story and characters.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 comes six years after the first game’s release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018. The game was also recently ported to the Nintendo Switch. With a flexible and detailed role-playing experience, a friendly protagonist, and an engaging story, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has found its niche among gamers. The sequel promises more of the same in an updated package for current-gen consoles and PC.

There is no specific release date yet, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 should be released sometime later this year. There are no pricing or edition details yet, but the game is currently available as a wishlist on Steam.
