Iyo One headset with integrated AI-powered generative chatbots open for pre-order

The Iyo One headset has emerged as the latest contender for the challenge of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in wearable form. This will be Californian startup Iyo’s second audio device and the first that aims to integrate AI chatbots inside. However, the company isn’t just pitching it as an AI device, as the Iyo One can also function as a standalone music and podcast player. Currently, the headset is open for pre-order, and the company’s website emphasizes that it will ship globally after launch.

Iyo One Earbuds pre-order details

According to Iyo, there are two variants of the handset — a Wi-Fi only version with 16GB of built-in storage and a Wi-Fi + LTE version with 32GB of built-in storage. While the exact price of the device is not mentioned, the company says that the price for the Wi-Fi version is expected to be around $599 (Rs. 49,800 approx), while the Wi-Fi + LTE model is expected to be priced at $699 (Rs. 58,100 approx. Rs). Iyo One headphones will be available in three color options, Ocean, Polar and Night.

To book an order, people will have to pay $59 (roughly Rs. 4,900) for the Wi-Fi only variant and $69 (roughly Rs. 5,700) for the Wi-Fi + LTE variant. Those who pre-book their orders will receive free shipping. The pre-order amount is also included in the price of the device. Pre-registration can be done on the company’s website.

Iyo One Earbuds Specifications, Features

The website does not currently share much information about the specifications of the Iyo One earphones. However, it has been mentioned that the Iyo One will be equipped with a 4nm quad-core CPU. A report from PC-Tablet claims that it will be Qualcomm’s S5 Gen 3 chipset, which is an AI-powered processor. The headphones are also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.

There are two variants of the handset — 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM paired with 16GB of built-in storage and 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB of built-in storage. The Iyo One headset supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands, and the LTE variant also supports 4G. In addition, the headset also has Bluetooth and GPS capabilities.

In terms of features, the startup claims that the Iyo One will feature private voice input, which is likely its way of referring to independent AI-powered chatbot support. Iyo claims that these chatbots will be able to help with reading and sending emails, messages, phone calls, navigation, music playback and more. The headphones are also claimed to come with built-in head tracking for an immersive audio experience. In addition, it also refers to “Presence” and “Immersion” modes, which probably suggests active noise cancellation (ANC) and transparency modes.
