iQOO 13 will have a new generation BOE Q10 display with 2K resolution

The iQOO 13 is expected to be unveiled as the company’s next flagship smartphone in China next month. Ahead of its expected debut, much is known about the alleged smartphone from the Vivo sub-brand thanks to rumours. However, the latest developments come from the company itself. At the Vivo Developer Conference (VDC) 2024, it was officially confirmed that the iQOO 13 will be equipped with the new BOE Q10 display, developed with the latest technology, which improves on the screens of the previous generation.

The new BOE Q10 iQOO 13 display will have a 2K resolution. It is said to have been co-developed by the company in collaboration with a display manufacturer using the new Q10 luminescent material. Vivo says it will have advantages in terms of brightness, color, power consumption and lifespan. But how much exactly?

BOE says its Q10 screens have 12.5 percent better global brightness than previous models. Power consumption is claimed to be reduced by 10 percent and color deviation is reduced by more than 50 percent. According to the display manufacturer, the BOE Q10 screen will have a 33 percent longer lifespan compared to previous generation displays.

Vivo also confirmed that the new iQOO 13 display will be equipped with an updated ultra-sensitive touch technology. It will also have eye protection. Although the specifications of the screen remain unknown, it has been announced that it will have an aspect ratio of 19.8:9.

iQOO 13 Specifications (Expected)

Previous leaks suggest that the iQOO 13 will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It may run an unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset (dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Elite) under the hood, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

In terms of optics, the rumored phone could feature a triple primary camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto lens. It may also get a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The iQOO 13 is reportedly backed by a 6,150mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
