The iQOO 13 is all set to launch in China on October 30. As the date of the presentation of the flagship phone approaches, there is no shortage of teasers and rumors. Recently, there was a discussion about the price of the upcoming smartphone and it seems that it will cost more than its predecessor iQOO 12. The iQOO 13 is confirmed to have a body thickness of 7.99mm. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will feature a BOE Q10 8T LTPO OLED display with a 2K resolution.
The iQOO 13 may cost more than its predecessor
iQOO product manager Galant V said on Weibo (via ITHome ) that a price increase for the iQOO 13 is “inevitable”. A representative of the company said that the cost of production has increased by hundreds of yuan. The official, however, did not say how much the price increase could be.
For reference, the iQOO 12 has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 47,000). An informant from Digital Chat Station previously claimed that the iQOO 13 will not see a price increase and will stick to the 3,999 yuan price tag for the base variant of 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
Meanwhile, iQOO is teasing the specifications of the iQOO 13 via its official Weibo handle. The flagship is confirmed to feature a 7.99mm body and a 6150mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The battery uses third generation silicon anode material and 100W Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocol (translated from Chinese).
We previously learned that the iQOO 13 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform and include its own proprietary Q2 gaming chip for gaming. It will have a BOE Q10 8T LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. It will ship with OriginOS 5 and have dual speakers. It is teased to come in black, green, gray and white.
