Huawei is expected to announce the Mate 70 series in the fourth quarter of this year as a direct successor to the Mate 60 lineup. The upcoming lineup may include the Huawei Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, and Mate 70 Pro+ models. The Chinese tech brand has not yet confirmed the existence of the new series, but a new leak with detailed specifications appeared on Weibo the day before. The Huawei Mate 70 phones are said to come with an updated Kirin chipset and improved imaging capabilities. They can support wireless charging and satellite communication.

Tipster Smart Pikachu (translated from Chinese) posted on Weibo that the Huawei Mate 70 series will have significant updates, such as satellite support. It is said to have new variable aperture technology and a periscopic telephoto sensor. The phones can offer a 3D spatial zoom feature for immersive video and audio. It is assumed that it will be presented around October.
The Huawei Mate 70 line is expected to run on the HarmonyOS Next operating system built on the Hongmeng kernel. It is expected to come with a Kirin chip with AI features. Future smartphones are said to retain 1.5K resolution displays.

The Huawei Mate 60 was launched last September at a starting price of CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 68,500). It runs on Harmony OS 4 and has a 6.69-inch LTPO OLED display (1216×2688 pixels) with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It showcases a triple primary camera that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies, there is a single 8-megapixel sensor on the front.
Huawei packed a 4,750Ah battery into the Huawei Mate 60 with 66W fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging and reversible wireless charging. It has an IP68 water resistance rating and is available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options. The phone also offers two-way Beidou satellite messaging.
