Honor 300 Pro expected to get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 50MP periscope telephoto camera

The Honor 300 Pro is likely to launch alongside the vanilla Honor 300 soon. The Chinese smartphone maker has yet to confirm a launch date, but some details of the lineup have leaked online. The Honor 300 series is said to feature a 1.5K display and support for 100W fast charging. The Honor 300 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Honor 300 Pro and Honor 300 are expected to receive an upgrade over the Honor 200 Pro and Honor 200 respectively.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) has posted on Weibo alleged details of the Honor 300 series. According to the leak, the upcoming lineup will feature 1.5K OLED screens, which is a nice improvement over the Full HD+ screens of previous models. They can run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The leaker did not directly specify which model will use this chipset, but the Pro model is expected to have it. As a reminder, the Honor 200 has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor under the hood, and the Honor 200 Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.

Like its predecessors, the Honor 300 series supports 100W wired and wireless charging. The Pro variant may also sport a 50-megapixel periscope sensor. The informant says that the presence of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner has not yet been confirmed.

Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro were introduced in China in May this year. They were launched in India in July with a starting price of Rs. 34,999 for Honor 200 and Rs. 57,999 for the Honor 200 Pro.

They boast a 50-megapixel triple rear camera and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. They run on Android 14 MagicOS 8.0. They are equipped with a 5200 mAh battery with support for 100 W wired fast charging. The Honor 200 has a 6.7-inch curved OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, while the Honor 200 Pro has a slightly larger 6.78-inch screen. The vanilla model is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, while the Pro variant has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
