Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Metacritic rating

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is FromSoftware’s biggest and most ambitious expansion ever, featuring an all-new world map, a new story, boss battles, weapon classes, spells, and more, adding dozens of hours of content to the base game.

Reviews of the upcoming expansion, which will be released on June 21st for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, have already been published with high scores. With a Metacritic score of 95 based on 56 critic reviews at the time of writing, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree now holds the highest rated expansion of all time. As noted by VGC, the score places the expansion at number 36 on Metacritic’s overall list of the highest-rated games of all time. The DLC is only one point behind the base game; Elden Ring has a Metacritic score of 96 based on 93 reviews from critics.

When it comes to expansions, Shadow of the Erdtree is now at the top of the list. Before the Elden Ring expansions, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine had the highest DLC rating on Metacritic with a score of 92. Keep in mind that the review score may change as more add-on reviews are received.

Elden Ring Sale

Last week, developer FromSoftware confirmed that Elden Ring had sold 25 million copies worldwide. The action role-playing game, which was released in 2022, is FromSoftware’s best-selling game, far ahead of the developer’s other popular titles such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls III, both of which sold more than 10 million units.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree requires the base game to play. It will focus on the story of Mikella, Malenia’s brother, and will take place in the Shadow Kingdom, a brand new area in the Elden Ring world. The expansion also introduces a formidable new antagonist, Messmer Tepes. Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21st on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X.
