Dragon Age: The Veilguard PC system requirements, preload time announced

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on October 31st. BioWare’s action RPG is the fourth Dragon Age game, the first since 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. Ahead of the game’s launch, publisher Electronic Arts has released PC system requirements and preload times. EA also shared performance details for Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

In a blog post detailing the PC spec for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, developer BioWare said the upcoming game was designed to be available on a wide range of PCs. However, it should be noted that PC users will need at least 16GB of RAM to play the game at various graphics settings. Players will also need 100GB of storage (SSD recommended) to play the game. Dragon Age: Veilguard PC system requirements are split between raytracing: enabled and raytracing: disabled.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Console Performance

On PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature performance and accuracy modes targeting 60fps and 30fps respectively. In addition, the game will feature improvements specific to the recently announced PlayStation 5 Pro. According to BioWare Studio CTO Machei Kurowski, the game will feature an enhanced resolution on console in both 30fps precision modes and 60fps performance modes.

In addition, using PSSR scaling technique from PS5 Pro, the game will have improved image quality. On PS5 Pro, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will ship with Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) at 60fps performance mode; this feature will only be available in 30fps mode on standard PS5.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Preload Time

Although the game releases on October 31st, it will be available for pre-download starting October 14th at 9am PDT (9:30pm EST) on Xbox Series S/X. PS5 will be able to pre-download the game starting October 29th at 9am PDT (9:30pm EST).

Bioware has also confirmed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not ship with any third-party DRM like Denuvo on any platform. However, the lack of DRM means that the pre-download will not be available on PC, where users will be able to download and play the game after it launches on October 31st at 9am PT (9:30pm IST).
