The next Call of Duty seems to have been teased. The first Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 teaser has surfaced, showing live-action footage of a group of people defacing Mount Rushmore with the message “Truth Lies.” The teaser is part of a website believed to be part of an early marketing push for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Additionally, an edited version of the main art from the game appears to have leaked as well.
Spotted by CharlieIntel, the X account that posts Call of Duty updates, a new teaser website — thetruthlies.com — has surfaced that hints at the next Call of Duty. The website features an old interactive TV similar to the one we’ve seen in previous Call of Duty: Black Ops games, which allows users to flip through six channels, adjust the volume, press the record button, and turn the TV on and off.
The first TV channel shows a live video recording of a group of trained mercenaries who climb Mount Rushmore at night and destroy the monument with banners with the inscription “Truth lies”.
The second channel also shows a video of a group of people putting up “True Lies” posters on the street. The remaining four channels are showing TV static, suggesting that four more video teasers will appear over time.
Also, reliable leaker billbil-kun posted a blurry key art image purportedly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Wednesday night. The image, albeit blurry, looks like a box image from 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Although Activision has yet to confirm the next Call of Duty, it is expected to arrive later this year. Earlier this month, Treyarch, the developer responsible for previous Black Ops games, reportedly hinted that the next Call of Duty could be Black Ops 6. 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the final and fifth game in the series Black Ops.
Last week, reports claimed that Microsoft, which completed its $69 billion acquisition of Call of Duty maker Activision last year, plans to release the next installment of the shooter franchise on Game Pass.
Microsoft also announced the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, where it announced a Direct presentation dedicated to the next Call of Duty.
