The Asus ROG Ally X is expected to be unveiled in the next few weeks, and specifications of the handheld gaming console have been leaked online ahead of its debut. It will arrive as an updated version of the first-generation ROG Ally, rather than a successor, and the details of the phone suggest that the ROG Ally X will feature some highly sought-after hardware improvements. This includes, in particular, an improved battery and much more, higher memory bandwidth, which should increase the performance of the device.
Asus ROG Ally X specifications (expected)
A report from VideoCardz claims that the Asus ROG Ally X will feature a much larger 80Wh battery that should allow users to play games for longer — the original device came with a 40Wh battery and users complained about the original’s short battery life consoles,
Another area that will be improved when the ROG Ally X arrives is the memory department – the company has equipped the ROG Ally with 16GB of RAM, while the ROG Ally will get 24GB of LPDDR5 storage. It will also offer a higher memory bandwidth of 7,500 MHz, up from 6,400 MHz in the current model.
According to the report, the ROG Ally X will be powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Ultimate processor that powers the first-generation ROG Ally. Similarly, the 7-inch Full HD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate will be retained on the upcoming device.
Asus will also replace the first generation ROG Ally fan with a fan that is 23 percent smaller and has 50 percent thinner fins than their predecessor, resulting in a 10 percent improvement in airflow in the upcoming ROG Ally X.
ROG Ally X’s size and weight have also increased thanks to the larger battery. According to the report, the device will be 36.9mm thick, which means it will be 4.5mm thicker than the original model. It will reportedly weigh 678g, which is 70g more than the ROG Ally. We can expect to learn more about the Asus ROG Ally X — like its rumored $799 (roughly Rs. 66,400) price and availability — at Computex 2024, which kicks off on June 4.
