Google announced on Tuesday that the Android 15 rollout has begun for Pixel devices. The latest operating system (OS) was released worldwide on September 3. Google detailed the update’s features on Pixel devices, including security measures like anti-theft and privacy-focused additions like Private Space. In addition, Android 15 also includes exclusive features for sophisticated smartphones and devices, as well as improvements to the camera and authentication.

Android 15 features

In a blog post, Google highlighted features coming to Pixel smartphones with the Android 15 update, including a feature called Theft Detection Lock. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine if a device is stolen or stolen and automatically lock it. Alternatively, users can use the existing Remote Lock feature to manually lock the phone using a mobile phone number.

The Mountain View-based tech giant is also making it harder for attackers to access device settings by requiring additional authentication for actions such as removing a SIM card or turning off Find My Device. If several failed attempts are detected, the device will be automatically locked.

Google has also emphasized privacy with the already previously reviewed Private Space function — a private space where users can store their personal information. Users will be able to add another level of authentication to this space or hide it completely from view.

For foldable devices like the new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Android 15 will allow users to pin or unpin the taskbar to the screen for easy access. They can customize the page layout and keep frequently used apps close at hand. The App Pairing feature in the update is said to make multitasking easier by allowing you to share files using drag and drop. Users can also save combinations of their most frequently used apps and they will appear as a single app icon on the home screen.

Android 15 also brings other changes to Pixel devices, such as improved low-light controls in the camera app, finer controls in third-party camera apps, one-touch sign-in to apps using passkeys for authentication, and the ability to use satellite. communication in third-party applications without Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
