Algorand Foundation Announces Blockchain Developer Course on Nasscom’s FutureSkills Platform

Algorand is expanding its presence in the Indian blockchain sector, one step at a time. This week, Algorand Foundation’s India-focused initiative called AlgoBharat announced a program for app developers to train Indian engineers in blockchain development. Nasscom, the country’s premier non-governmental technology trade body, has joined forces with Algoranda to boost blockchain training. In fact, Algorand’s training program is launched on Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime platform, which is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and is aimed at providing advanced technology education to the developer community.

Algorand’s Blockchain Developer Program launched in India

AlgoBharat announced on May 4 that its course is available through Nasscomm’s FutureSkills platform. The company also said the program is aligned with India’s National Occupational Standards (NOS) and National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).

As part of this program, AlgoBharat says it will hold in-depth webinars on blockchain research and development. The initiative could lead promising developers to travel domestically and abroad to attend blockchain development workshops, according to the blockchain company.

“As the first blockchain platform in partnership with Nasscom, Algorand creates original content for training developers. The foundation has invested heavily in its university engagements over the past 18 months, providing educational content and hands-on activities to support the learning journey of Indian computing and engineering students,” the company said in a press release.

Algorand will focus on student engagement in India

Algorand’s focus shifted to India after the Maharashtra government partnered with a ‘green’ blockchain to store the health data of its state’s citizens as early as 2022. In April 2023, Anil Kakani, Vice President and Head of India at the Algorand Foundation spoke to Gadgets360 about India becomes a global Web3 development hub.

Over the past two years, the foundation says it has been able to recruit several students from Indian universities. According to its latest announcement, the company also said that at the university level, Algorand Blockchain clubs have expanded to more than 50 educational institutes.

Meanwhile, Algorand has announced the third iteration of its blockchain teacher training program at BMS College of Engineering in Bengaluru.

“It’s inspiring to see students starting blockchain clubs across the country and learning to build on the Algorand blockchain platform. Our partnership with Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime platform is a strong testament to our commitment to India’s digital future,” Kakani said in a prepared statement.
