The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is rumored to launch next year, joining the South Korean tech conglomerate’s flagship lineup of foldable smartphones as an affordable alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip series. Despite rumors that it may cut some features in an attempt to get an affordable price, it has been reported that the alleged smartphone could be powered by the same Exynos processor as the flagship Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE processor leaks

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), whistleblower @Jukanlosreve suggests that the alleged Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE could use a flagship processor. Under the hood, it’s said to be powered by the Exynos 2400, the same processor that currently powers the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in some regions, including India.

This development contradicts previous reports that suggested the alleged smartphone could have slimmed-down internals to keep costs as low as possible. It is expected that it will appear on the market in 2025 as a more affordable version of the folding model of the Galaxy Z Flip series in the form of a clam shell.

According to Samsung, the company is exploring “ways to lower barriers to entry so that more customers can truly experience sophisticated products.” Thus, rumors about the development of more affordable variants of the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold smartphones may be true.

Meanwhile, the source also suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could get an Exynos 2500 under the hood. Notably, Samsung’s current lineup of flagship foldable smartphones is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This suggests that the South Korean company may switch from Qualcomm to its own chipsets in some regions. In addition to the available versions of foldable phones, Samsung is also developing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim and an additional model in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 series.
