The launch of the Redmi K80 series is expected in the near future. The Chinese company has yet to announce a launch date, but ahead of that, Redmi’s general manager has teased the upcoming lineup online. The upcoming series is confirmed to include the vanilla Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro. They are expected to bring several performance-focused upgrades over last year’s Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro. The Redmi K80 Pro is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
Redmi brand general manager Wang Teng Thomas teased the arrival of the new Redmi K80 series on Weibo. The series will include the vanilla Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro. Earlier it was assumed that the Redmi K80e model would also be included. The phones are confirmed to run on a customized HyperOS 2 interface.
The upcoming lineup is expected to have improved visuals, longer battery life, and better screens than their predecessors. It will have a design different from previous models with a new texture and metal frame. The Weibo post also confirms the price hike for the Redmi K80 series.
AnTuTu result for Redmi K80 Pro announced
The Redmi K80 Pro seems to have scored over 3 million points on AnTuTu 10. The other two unnamed phones alongside the device scored 2,832,981 and 2,738,065.
Also, the image shared by the executive on Weibo indicates that the Redmi K80 Pro will have a higher configuration and price than the rival models. In the comments section, he clarifies that it will be priced lower than the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13 starts at RMB 4,499 (roughly Rs. 53,000). In comparison, the Redmi K70 Pro was sold for 3,299 yuan (around Rs. 38,000). It may offer a higher configuration than the iQOO 13.
The Redmi K80 series is rumored to debut later this month. Both models are expected to have a 6.67-inch display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. They can have IP68 dust and water protection. The Redmi K80 is likely to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen SoC, while the Redmi K80 Pro may get the Snapdragon 8 Elite under the hood.
Last year’s Redmi K70 was renamed Poco F6 Pro for the global market. Therefore, the Redmi K80 is expected to debut as the Poco F7 Pro in the global market.
