This is also the first security update released on Android 15.
Google Pixel November 2024 Update: What’s New
Google says that the November 2024 update for Pixel has build number AP3A.241105.007 for the Pixel 6 to Pixel 8 devices. Meanwhile, the same is available for the latest Pixel 9 series as AP3A.241105.008 build release. Smartphones with the latest version of Android 15 will be eligible to receive it.
The Pixel update addresses Bluetooth range issues under certain conditions exclusively on the Pixel 9 series. The smartphone line also fixes camera tilt that occurred when zooming between different lenses. The company says Pixel 9 users have also reported issues with flickering white dots on the screen and the adaptive brightness feature not working. The November 2024 update addresses both of these issues.
On the Pixel 8a, it claims to fix the screen flickering issue under certain conditions. All models in the Google lineup have received general performance and stability improvements during user interface (UI) transitions.
In addition to performance-related fixes, it also includes important security fixes for vulnerabilities discovered in the past. This includes infrastructure, Google Play system updates, kernel and system risks. Some of these vulnerabilities are considered severe and could lead to local elevation of privilege and remote code execution without the need for any additional execution privileges. Two of them, CVE-2024-43047 and CVE-2024-43093, were discovered in a limited targeted exploit, the company said.
