The leaked OnePlus Open 2 suggests support for wireless charging, a 5,700mAh battery and a slim design

OnePlus Open 2 is expected to launch early next year as a sequel to OnePlus Open. Smartphone enthusiasts are interested in how the company can improve the OnePlus Open. A new leak from China points to a significant increase in battery capacity and a slimmer design. The OnePlus Open 2 is also said to offer wireless charging support. The OnePlus Open was launched in China as the Oppo Find N3. The OnePlus Open 2 is likely to debut in China as the Oppo Find N5.

Chinese whistleblower Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) has published alleged specifications of the OnePlus Open 2 on Weibo. The leak claims that the upcoming phone will be larger than the original and have a larger screen. It is said to pack a 5,700mAh battery with support for wireless charging, despite being “ultra-thin”. This battery capacity will be an upgrade over the OnePlus Open’s 4,805 mAh cell.

Additionally, the OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It may contain a custom USB Type-C port. It is said to feature a Hasselblad-tuned triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.

The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to go official in the first quarter of 2025. The foldable will most likely be launched as the Oppo Find N5 in China.

The OnePlus Open was launched in India last October at a price of Rs. 1,39,999 for the single version of 16GB RAM + 512GB storage.

The first foldable smartphone from OnePlus boasts a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED internal display and a 6.31-inch 2K AMOLED screen. Under the hood, it packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and has a Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera setup led by a 48-megapixel primary camera.
