The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 series could have a redesign of its older versions. Following a similar convention to the current generation Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, the upcoming lineup is expected to include the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Although there has been no official confirmation of this, details about them have surfaced online through leaks and other listings. A new report now claims that the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are expected to launch with a significant design change from the previous earbuds.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 design (expected)
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 series could come with an added bean-shaped grip, according to a report by The Chosun. This will be a big change from the current design of the Galaxy Buds 2 line without the ear holder. It’s not clear if both the base Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will include this change, or if it will be a difference from the higher-end Pro version.
The addition of a handle to the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3, if true, will also bring functional changes. It is likely to improve call quality as the design allows the microphones to be placed at the end of the stems, closer to the mouth. It can also reduce the size of the headphones and increase the comfort or fit for the users.
With the increased space in the case of a redesign, the company could also include larger batteries and other improved hardware inside each handset. The report adds that the Galaxy Buds 3 is expected to support AI features to improve the user experience. Namely, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Buds FE recently received a number of Galaxy AI features via OTA (over-the-air) updates.
Presentation of Samsung Galaxy Buds 3, specifications (expected)
Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro charging case is likely to pack a 500mAh rated battery. This might be marginally better than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which has a typical 515mAh charging case battery. Typical values are usually higher than nominal values.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3 reportedly may not launch at the same time. At least one of the variants is expected to join the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place in July.
