The Honor Magic 7 series was announced on Monday at the Snapdragon Summit 2024, Qualcomm’s annual event to showcase its next-generation flagship mobile chipset. The smartphone maker has confirmed that the Honor Magic 7 line will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that was unveiled by the chip maker. Honor also revealed some of the artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of its upcoming smartphone, including an open ecosystem supported by an on-device AI agent and enhanced mobile gaming that uses the NPU to render graphics.

At the current Snapdragon Summit 2024, the smartphone maker announced that the Honor Magic 7 series will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is equipped with Qualcomm’s second-generation Oryon special processor cores, as well as a special Hexagon Neural Processor (NPU) and an updated AI Image Signal Processor (ISP ). The chipset will also work on Asus, iQOO, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi smartphones.

While the company hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the Honor Magic 7 series, its upcoming phones appear to be designed to take advantage of AI-related performance improvements on the new Snapdragon chipset.

According to Honor, the Magic 7 series will offer access to an open ecosystem that uses an in-device artificial intelligence agent called Autopilot AI that can perform simple or complex tasks such as placing an order at a restaurant, booking tickets, organizing messages or automatically unsubscribing a user. from different services — the company says users will be able to trigger these actions with a voice command.

For users who play resource-intensive games on their smartphones, the Honor Magic 7 series will offer real-time AI graphics rendering support, which is said to deliver better image quality while reducing the load on the phone’s GPU.
