The Vivo X200 series was launched in China on Monday. The Chinese smartphone maker has unveiled three phones as part of its latest smartphone lineup: the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro Mini. While the first two build on the features introduced by the company with the X100 series, the X200 Pro Mini is an all-new model that is said to have similar hardware but in a more compact form factor. The Vivo X200 series boasts specifications such as the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, Origin OS 5 and artificial intelligence (AI)-based features, including Vivo’s own version of Circle to Search.
Vivo X200 series price
The Vivo X200 price in China starts at RMB 4,300 (roughly Rs. 51,000) for the base 12GB + 256GB storage configuration. It is also available in 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB storage configurations.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X200 Pro starts at RMB 5,999 (roughly Rs. 63,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The Vivo X200 Pro Mini is priced at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 56,000) for the same configuration.
All three smartphones are available in four colors: Carbon Black, Titanium Grey, Moonlight White and Blue Sapphire. While all three phones are available for pre-order today, the X200 and X200 Pro Mini will be available in stores on October 19, while the X200 Pro will be available for purchase from October 25.
Specifications of the Vivo X200 series
The Vivo X200 features a 6.67-inch 10-bit OLED LTPS screen with four curved corners and Zeiss Natural Color support. It received high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce flicker, HDR 10+ and a maximum brightness of 4500 nits. In terms of optics, it sports a triple primary camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 telephoto sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The smartphone supports a 5800mAh BlueVolt battery with 90W wired charging support.
The Vivo X200 Pro has a screen similar to the standard model except for a few changes. This is an LTPO panel with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display of this model also has a thinner frame of 1.63 mm. Meanwhile, the new X200 Pro Mini has a more compact 6.31-inch flat display. Both the Pro models in the Vivo X200 range are equipped with triple rear camera units that include a new 50-megapixel Sony LYT-818 camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. However, there are small changes to the telephoto camera. While the Pro model gets a new 200-megapixel Zeiss APO telephoto camera, the X200 Pro Mini has a 50-megapixel sensor.
The camera modules on the Pro models are powered by Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip, which was previously found on the X100 Ultra. It supports features such as cinematic 4K HDR portrait video and 10-bit log shooting at up to 60 frames per second (fps).
Vivo X200 Pro and X200 Pro Mini are powered by 6000mAh and 5800mAh batteries respectively. Both also support 90W wired charging.
All three models are equipped with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, manufactured using the second generation 3nm process. The main thing is a productive Cortex-X925 core with a maximum clock frequency of 3.6 GHz. The smartphones run on Vivo’s new Origin OS 5, which was introduced recently. It offers AI features like the company’s own version of Circle to Search, a visual search tool that lets users highlight a part of the screen and enable it to search the web. Vivo has also introduced a Dynamic Island-like element called Origin Island.
