Honor 200 series launch date
At the VivaTech 2024 event, the company announced that the Honor 200 series, which is confirmed to ship with MagicOS 8.0, will be unveiled globally in Paris on June 12. He added that the MagicOS 8.0 update will also be coming to Honor Magic V2 and Honor 90 soon.
According to the company, the Honor 200 phones will come with AI-powered portrait photography, where the AI was trained on Studio Harcourt’s portrait datasets. Studio Harcourt is a French photography studio known for its classic portrait photography of celebrities and iconic figures over the years. Future smartphones are claimed to produce studio-quality portrait photos with the same “lighting and shadow effects” as studio portraits.
Another big AI upgrade from the company includes a four-layer AI architecture that is said to be integrated into MagicOS. The base layer consists of an artificial intelligence platform for various devices and an OS that creates an open ecosystem where multiple devices can be interconnected. This allows users to perform tasks like typing on their smartphone from a laptop keyboard or use their phone’s camera as a webcam paired with a laptop, similar to what we’ve seen with Samsung’s Galaxy AI features.
On top of that base layer, Honor says, there’s a platform-level AI layer that enables “intent-based human-computer interaction and personalized resource allocation.” The third and fourth layers of the new artificial intelligence system respectively include application-level artificial intelligence and “interface to cloud artificial intelligence services”, which will be supported by Google Cloud. This system is claimed to improve innovation for users and increase protection of their privacy.
