Assassin’s Creed Mirage is finally coming to Steam a year after launch. Ubisoft has announced that the adventure game will be available on the Valve platform later this month. Although a release date has yet to be confirmed, a Steam page for the game is already live. Assassin’s Creed Mirage was previously available on PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft store.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is headed to Steam
Ubisoft confirmed in a post on X Saturday that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be coming to Steam in October. “As we celebrate a year since launch, we can’t wait to welcome more fans to our experience of going back to our roots in 9th century Baghdad,” the publisher said in a post. The game can now be added to your Steam wishlist.

The studio released its latest games on PC through its own store and the Epic Games Store, with a delayed launch on Steam. However, Ubisoft is about to change that strategy with the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Last month, the company announced that it was pushing back the next Assassin’s Creed game, which was originally scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on November 15, 2024, to February 14, 2025. Ubisoft has also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on Steam on day one. “The game will mark the return of our new Steam Day 1 releases,” the company said.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has reduced the scope of its open world and story to provide a relatively shorter experience, reminiscent of the early games in the series. It follows Basim, a cunning street thief in ninth-century Baghdad who joins the Hidden and becomes an assassin. The game was first released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC (via Ubisoft and the Epic Games Store) on October 25, 2023.
Earlier this year, on June 6, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Mirage on iPhone and iPad. The game can be downloaded and played on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air and iPad Pro with an M1 chip or later.
Ubisoft Exploring Buyout
Ubisoft launched Star Wars Outlaws last month, but said the game fell short of its expectations. With disappointing performance Robbers and due to the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the company also revised its financial targets for the 2024-25 financial year.
Bloomberg reported last week that Tencent shareholder and Ubisoft’s founding family Guillemot were considering options, including a potential buyout of the French video game developer after it lost more than half of its market value in 2023.
On Monday, Ubisoft acknowledged the report and said it “regularly reviews all of its strategic options.”
