Vivo and iQOO smartphones have started receiving the Funtouch OS 15 update in India. With its rollout, the companies became one of the first original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to introduce Android 15 to their phones, leaving tech giants like Samsung and Google behind. The update includes new algorithms, improved animations and effects, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based features, all aimed at improving the user experience.

Vivo FuntouchOS 15 Release

According to iQOO, the Funtouch OS 15 update will be available for download on the iQOO 12. The brand’s other phones will receive the update in the coming weeks and months. In a press release, Vivo also confirmed the rollout of the Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 beta for the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and X100 series.

The changelog of the update reveals that Funtouch OS 15 includes a new intelligent scheduling algorithm that is said to provide appropriate computing power for different applications and tasks based on priority level and requirements. In addition, it also optimizes the system’s dynamic effects, which now look more natural thanks to the new Origin animations. This optimization also improves tactical response, promising an improved user experience.

Funtouch OS 15 also offers several sets of static and live wallpapers with different styles to choose from. There are also new persistent display styles, four new fingerprint recognition animations, and an optimized icon library. Features such as Memory Movie, document shadow removal, cleaning suggestions and new quick settings for Ultra Game Mode have also been added.

Apart from customization options, the Android 15 update for Vivo smartphones also includes AI features. One of them is AI Photo Enhance, which optimizes image parameters to improve overall image quality. It also gets AI Erase, which as the name suggests is an object removal tool that can remove elements from images. These features are part of the new AI Image Lab. Another notable addition is Live Transcription, which claims to provide on-screen transcription of voice content.

The update also improves the cross-device experience with improved communication with Windows. Users can sync contacts, share files, and view recent photos in real time across multiple devices. In addition, the S-Capture feature has also been updated and now supports multiple audio tracks and annotations during screen recording. It also includes a control panel to adjust settings such as microphone and system sound recordings.
