Nothing open with ChatGPT integration, up to 8 hours of music playback launched in India

Nothing Ear Open was launched in India on Tuesday as the first open-ended wireless headphones by Nothing, a British startup led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. It has Nothing’s trademark transparent design. The Nothing Ear Open is equipped with a 14.2mm dynamic driver and is IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance. They also offer support for AI-powered Clear Voice technology for improved call quality, and are claimed to deliver up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge.

None Ear Open which is priced in India at Rs. 17,999. It will be sold in one white color option. The company is yet to reveal the availability of the wireless headphones, but the device is already listed on the company’s website in India.

Like the company’s other wireless headphones, the Nothing Ear Open features partially transparent design elements on the stem. It has an open design with a curved band that hooks around the back of the user’s ear. It is equipped with a 14.2 mm dynamic driver.

Nothing also touted integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot, when pairing the headset with the Nothing phone.

The wireless headphones have a squeeze control and offer support for Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair. These controls and EQ options can be adjusted via the Nothing X app on a paired smartphone. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity with support for AAC and SBC codecs. Nothing Ear Open can be paired with two devices simultaneously.

Nothing Ear Open is IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance. They also feature AI-powered Clear Voice technology that works while you use the headset to make and receive calls and is claimed to deliver latency of less than 120ms. However, there is no active noise cancellation (ANC) support on the headphones.

Both earphones have a 64 mAh battery, while the charging case carries a 635 mAh battery that can be charged via the USB Type-C port. The new headphones are claimed to offer up to six hours of voice calls and up to eight hours of music playback without a case.

The recently launched Nothing Ear Open is claimed to deliver up to 30 hours of music playback with the case. A ten-minute charge is said to provide two hours of listening time. The headphones weigh 8.1 grams, while the case weighs 63.8 grams.
