Nothing has begun rolling out an update that will integrate OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT with the entire line of audio devices. CMF, the company’s sub-brand focused on affordable devices, will also get integration into all of its headphones. This update is rolling out through the Nothing X app on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. However, users will only be able to use this feature when the devices are paired with Nothing’s smartphones.
In a press release on Tuesday, Nothing said that the entire audio line (including devices from CMF) will get the ChatGPT integration feature through the Nothing X app. These features were first introduced on the Nothing Ear and Ear A in April, but now users with any of these brands’ headsets will be able to chat with ChatGPT without the need for mobile devices. First of all, the devices getting the integration include Ear 1, Ear Stick, Ear 2, CMF Buds, CMF Neckband Pro and CMF Buds Pro.
Great news.
Our ChatGPT integration is now available for all Nothing and CMF by Nothing audio products.
It gives you on-the-go access to the world’s most popular consumer AI tool through your smartphone Nothing.

To use ChatGPT on a Nothing or CMF audio device, users can squeeze the earpiece to activate the AI chatbot. Once activated, users can verbally ask their queries and the bot will respond in kind. Users can ask a wide range of questions from static general knowledge queries to asking him to tell a story. Furthermore, since OpenAI has started to introduce GPT-4o, its latest AI flagship, users can also take advantage of its capabilities through integration.
However, there are a few caveats. First, users will need a Nothing smartphone to use this feature. Second, they also need the ChatGPT app and activate the voice feature by selecting one of the available voice options. Namely, the company first announced this integration last week.
Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A launched in April and were the first to get this integration. These headphones have 11 mm dynamic drivers and support active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 45 dB. Both handsets also support transparency mode. Furthermore, these headphones come with in-ear detection as well as support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
