Xiaomi announces 10th Anniversary Mobile Service Camps in India

Xiaomi India on Tuesday took to its social media platform to announce the launch of new mobile service camps to mark its 10th anniversary in the country. The program, which has already been launched, will operate in authorized Xiaomi service centers. According to the company, users can take advantage of services such as free mobile health checks and free software updates. In addition, users who want to repair their phone can get discounts on spare parts.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi announced that it will be conducting “mobile service camps” at its authorized service centers. The campaign started on July 1 and will last until July 31. In these places, Xiaomi smartphone users will be able to take advantage of free services, such as checking the functionality of their phones and even updating them to the latest version of the firmware.

In addition, it has also announced special discounts of up to 50 percent on spare parts. The company said, “Celebrating 10 years of #XiaomiIndia with ‘Mobile Service Camps’ exclusively at Xiaomi Authorized Service Centers!”

The Chinese company first entered the Indian smartphone market in 2014 with its Mi 3 phone. In the following years, the country set up seven factories capable of producing three smartphones per second, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India initiative. The company has expanded its portfolio, which now includes smart TVs, power banks, tablets and wearables.

Xiaomi claims that 99 percent of the smartphones it sells in India are locally manufactured and 65 percent of their cost is locally sourced. In December 2023, it launched a pilot project to export smartphones to countries like Bangladesh and Nepal.

On June 26, Xiaomi India announced the ‘Swasth Mahila Swasth Bharat’ campaign in partnership with Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YouWeCan) as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. Through this initiative, it will provide early cancer screenings to more than 1,50,000 women in 15 states in India over the next 12 months.
