The Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro with MediaTek Dimensity SoCs were launched in select global markets last week. The Chinese tech brand is now gearing up to launch its flagship phones in India. They are confirmed to be official in the country via Flipkart soon. According to the company, like its Chinese and global counterparts, the Indian variants of the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro will have several artificial intelligence (AI)-based features.
The launch of the Oppo Reno 12 5G series in India has been confirmed
Through a media invite, Oppo has announced that the Reno 12 5G series will debut in India soon. Flipkart and Oppo India have created special landing pages on their websites to announce the launch of Oppo Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G.
Both phones are confirmed to include several AI-powered camera features, including AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, and AI Clear Face. The lineup also includes productivity-enhancing features like AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak powered by Google Gemini LLM.
The Oppo Reno 12 5G series introduces new AI features
The upcoming AI Best Face feature in the Oppo Reno 12 series is touted to take the perfect shot by recognizing human faces and expressions. This function can “open” the eyes of the subject in the photo, if they were closed during the shooting.
AI Eraser 2.0 works like Google’s Magic Eraser and removes background distractions with just a few taps. The AI Studio feature can be used to turn any photo into a digital avatar, while AI Clear Face provides high-definition details of facial textures, hair, eyebrows, and more.
The Oppo Reno 12 AI lineup brief includes concise summaries and highlights of longer content. Record Summary AI can summarize daily office meetings.
Meanwhile, the AI Writer feature helps complete sentences, offers word suggestions and grammar corrections. AI Clear Voice uses advanced algorithms to reduce background noise by up to 40 dB.
Oppo Reno 12 Series Features (Expected)
The Chinese variants of Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC and Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC respectively. Global versions are based on MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processors.
Both the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are equipped with two 50-megapixel cameras and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Both phones are equipped with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. They are equipped with 5000 mAh batteries with support for 80 W SuperVOOC fast charging.
