God of War Ragnarok will reportedly be the next first PlayStation game to be ported to PC. The acclaimed action-adventure from Sony-owned Santa Monica Studio could be announced as early as this month. Sony has already released its exclusive game Horizon Forbidden West for PC this year and plans to launch the Ghost of Tsushima port for PC on May 16th. God of War Ragnarok was released in 2022 for PS4 and PS5, with DLC released in 2023.
The information comes from reliable leaker billbil-kun, who claimed in a Dealabs report that God of War Ragnarok is likely to be announced for PC sometime in May 2024. While the report didn’t mention a release date or window, the leaker said a PC port is coming soon.
Additionally, the announcement of the launch of God of War Ragnarok for PC could be made at the PlayStation Showcase, which is expected to take place later this month. Sony is rumored to be planning to unveil the games in May, and the company is reportedly set to host either the PlayStation Showcase or State of Play this month. Parent company PlayStation has yet to confirm its plans for a PC port of God of War Ragnarok or announce a date for a demo event.

So far, Sony has followed a strategy of waiting at least a year for its exclusive single-player games before launching them on PC. The company’s PC ports were handled by veterans Nixxes Software, the Sony-owned studio that worked on PC ports for early PlayStation titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Nixxes released Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC on March 21st, and plans to release Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on May 16th.
God of War (2018) was also ported to PC in 2022 following the PS4 launch in 2018. The sequel, God of War Ragnarok, is out for PS4 and PS5 in November 2022. The developers of Santa Monia have added to this with a free DLC add-on. , God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, in December 2023. The game follows the adventures of the titular god of war Kratos and his son Atreus in the Scandinavian kingdoms.
