The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are said to get a quality-of-life upgrade with the latest 6.0 software update. According to the report, one of the additions that Meta didn’t specifically announce but is coming to the smart glasses is increased video recording duration. After the update, users will reportedly be able to record videos with their Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses for up to three minutes – a threefold increase from the previous limit.
Shoot longer videos with Ray-Ban Meta glasses
According to a report by Digital Trends, the version 6.0 update for Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allows users to record videos up to three minutes long. Previously, users could only record up to 60 seconds.
However, it said that the increased recording length is not turned on by default. After the update, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses still record videos up to 60 seconds. However, users can reportedly go to the settings in the companion app and navigate to the camera section to change this.
The new feature was introduced with a software update. If users don’t have the automatic update option turned on, they can manually update the smart glasses to receive it and other improvements.
Other features
An update to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses was announced in May. According to a Meta blog post, the smart glasses now support the Calm app, helping users improve their awareness. It can be accessed with a simple voice command “Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses”.
Furthermore, the update also brings support for streaming music via Amazon Music. This means that users no longer have to take out their smartphones to listen to music. Users can now also share captured media as their Instagram story with voice commands.
Along with the new features, Meta introduced three new styles for its smart glasses: Skyler in Shiny Chalky Gray with Gradient Cinnamon Pink lenses, Skyler in Shiny Black with Transitions Cerulean Blue lenses, and Headliner Low Bridge Fit in Shiny Black with Polar G15 lenses. These styles will be available in 15 countries including the US, Canada and Australia.
