OnePlus Glacier Battery technology will be presented on June 20; The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro might get it first

OnePlus introduces a new smartphone battery technology called “Glacier Battery” to increase the battery life and performance of smartphones. The new technology, developed in collaboration with Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), will be presented on June 20. Technology Claimed The Chinese tech brand is expected to launch the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro soon as the first smartphone with the new Glacier battery.

Through a series of Weibo posts, OnePlus has confirmed that the ‘Glacier Battery’ technology will be announced on June 20 at 2:00 PM (11:30 AM IST). This next-generation battery technology developed for Ace smartphones is co-developed with CATL. The brand claims that Glacier Battery technology will eliminate the common problem of frequent charging, the worry of running out of power and the need for rechargeable batteries. It is said to offer a “breakthrough” in the battery experience.

In addition, Chinese whistleblower Digital Chat Station has suggested that the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be the first device with OnePlus Glacier Battery technology. The phone does not have a release date, but it is expected to pack a powerful 6,100mAh battery with 100W charging support. This fast charging technology is said to charge the battery from zero to 100 percent in less than 30 minutes.

Despite the larger battery size, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro was able to maintain a thin profile of “8mm”. The speaker speculates that future OnePlus smartphones will include new battery technology.

OnePlus Ace 3 Pro Specifications (Expected)

Based on past leaks, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be officially launched in the third quarter of this year. It is expected to have a curved screen with a notch in the center for selfies. It is said to sport a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO screen with 1.5K resolution and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. It can have a metal middle frame and a glass body.

The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is expected to feature a triple primary camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel unit and a 2-megapixel sensor. It is supposed to be equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
