The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro could feature a grip, hinting at a design similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro, according to a leak. The TWS earbuds will reportedly debut alongside the slimmed-down Galaxy Buds 3 at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, which is likely to take place in July. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are also speculated to support a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features, in line with Samsung’s Galaxy AI vision. This new design change is expected to offer an advantage in terms of call quality, it claims.
Changing the design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
According to experienced tipster Evan Blass, the new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro could have a big change in terms of design. It could feature earcups – a design element that Samsung has so far excluded from its flagship TWS headphones.
The pixelated image shared by the tipster points to a short AirPods Pro-like handle, as well as a more compact top of the handset. While details remain unclear, it also suggests the presence of mesh on the back of the earcup, which could potentially help balance pressure inside the ear. This could prove useful especially when active noise cancellation (ANC) is engaged.
It is still speculated that it will have an in-ear design with silicone ear tips, as per the leaked image.
Other features
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is expected to arrive in July as the successor to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro that launched in 2022. According to a report by Android Headlines, both the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro will feature “ultra-high-quality audio,” 24-bit/96 kHz. However, where the Buds 3 Pro is reportedly expected to stand out is its two-way speaker design. It is also said to get Adaptive Noise Control, ANC and an ambient sound feature.
The flagship Samsung TWS will also get a feature called Blade Lights, although it remains to be seen how this might work. The Buds 3 Pro is also claimed to have support for 360 Audio and SmartThings Find – Samsung’s app that allows users to locate lost or stolen items.
Both TWS earphones can be IP57 rated for dust and water ingress and support Bluetooth 5.4. While the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is speculated to have a battery life of seven hours with ANC on, the standard version can offer up to six hours of playback on a single charge.
