The company has officially confirmed that the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will soon be launched in India. The smartphone is expected to debut as the top model in the flagship series, which consists of the Edge 50 Pro and the recently launched Edge 50 Fusion. Ahead of the official launch, Flipkart’s microsite also revealed key specifications of the phone and confirmed that it has artificial intelligence (AI) features.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra India Launch Date, Key Features
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Motorola India announced that its upcoming smartphone will be launched in the country on June 18. Meanwhile, a microsite has also been set up on Flipkart for the launch of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra in India.
According to the microsite, the smartphone will be equipped with a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The screen is claimed to have a peak brightness of 2,500 nits and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
According to Motorola, the Edge 50 Ultra will be equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner and will have Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is also confirmed to be IP68 dust and water resistant.
The phone is confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and will support Moto AI, the company’s suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features, including Magic Canvas, which allows users to create AI images based on text prompts.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will have 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage compared to the 16GB of RAM available in the global variant. Motorola says it will come with guaranteed OS updates for three years and security updates for four years.
The phone will support fast charging up to 125W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. In addition, the smartphone will offer 10W wireless power distribution, allowing users to charge other devices such as smartwatches and TWS headphones.
Motorola says the Edge 50 Ultra will also feature Smart Connect, which will allow users to transfer apps to their PCs, copy/paste text and images and share data between devices, and use the phone as a webcam.
A triple rear camera setup is confirmed with a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the front, it will have a 50-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera system is touted to have AI features like AI Adaptive Stabilization and 100x AI Super Zoom.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Price in India
Motorola has not officially revealed the price of the Edge 50 Ultra in India. Notably, its international counterpart is priced at €999 (roughly Rs. 89,000). It’s confirmed to be available in three colors: Peach Fuzz, Forest Gray (with a Pantone-approved silicone vegan leather back), and a wood finish.
